Grade 3 Prosecutor.

Jon was called to the Bar in 2005 by the Middle Temple. He joined Chambers in 2015, having previously worked as a criminal solicitor at a busy high street firm in Darlington. He appears regularly in the Criminal Courts across the North East, for both prosecution and defence, and has appeared at the Court of Appeal on a number of occasions.

Jon also has experience in the Courts Martial, having defended service men and women from all branches of the Armed Forces, in both the UK and abroad.

Outside of Crime, Jon has experience in Mental Health, Personal Injury, Contractual disputes, Licensing and General Regulatory work, and readily accepts instructions in all of those disciplines.

R v Z - defending in a multi-handed £1.6m cigarette smuggling trial

R v H&R – prosecuting on behalf of HMRC in an asset fraud worth over £300,000

R v L – defending in a multi-handed drugs conspiracy, with a value of over £500,000

R v W – defence of a youth accused of serious sexual offences against a child family member

R v L – prosecution of a serious assault within a family setting, involving multiple stab wounds

R v S – prosecution of a care worker accused of a stealing over £20,000 from an elderly and vulnerable relative

R v F – defence of a male accused of armed robbery with a firearm – ID issues
